It's a nice vehicle, but I would go with a Pacifica Limited instead if it was for me!

I suppose you can't pay more down up front? Look at total cost over the term of the loan, vs monthly payments. Just a thought.
BTW, how far will the "employee discount" go. Will it make it to Volvo, Jag, or Mazda? GM's made it to Saab, but I guess they were having trouble selling those.

Why? I don't see any redeeming qualities in the Pacifica except for a higher price and more questionable reliability.

So a 12 year old tranny is less reliable than the new CVT? Also, check your prices (after respective employee plans/rebates) per content. Pac is less for similar equipment and has more equipment availible than Freestyle such as Nav, HID, Sat radio, 19" rims, quad heated seats, and it's materials are nicer. Freestyle has optional 7 person seating and the nifty exterior keypad that Pac doesn't have.

Freestyle underpowered? It's not a friggin' racecar. Xchang's w/ Duratec and CVT has enough ballz in my book. Handles better than any SUV and has a great interior. FS gets my vote.

If I was looking into getting something like that I would look at the Saturn Vue Redline. They are supposed to be pretty darn peppy with 250hp and only weighs like 3400 pounds. They are also available in AWD which is nice.
I have never been a big fan of the Freestyle, but I guess its not a bad vehicle for the price.

The $35K MSRP for a Limited AWD is quite high. Perhaps there are rebates, but the Ford rebate would be as good and the MSRP is already lower. There is no nav or satellite radio in the Freestyle, but both can be added for cheap and easily. Same with the 19" rims but who wants large wheels anyway? Just kills gas mileage. The heated seats are a loss, but down here it is not important anyway. Perhaps Ford will add the heated/cooled seats from the Lincolns?
I still don't see why the Pacifica is much better than the Freestar.
