But like Chad said, you could always paint something cool on (or have it done, whichever). I'd like vinyl more if it didn't look like it was a sticker (meaning the color options, too)

I look forward to seeing the car finished though

Autozone sell the FUEL DOOR? Also why did you mount it backwards, like a suicide door??? It looks goofy and I'd be worried about the wind getting under it it and opening it up and snapping it off.

Seems like it's a non genuine Ford unit as IIRC the Ford ones have a dimple on the inner edge of the ring so you can get you finger underneath it.

Whoa! Didn't even see that. It holes look asymmetrical so maybe he won't have an issue flipping it. Unless he like it that way.

This particular fuel door was made in this fashion for some reason. It was made with the intent to have a magnet open it on its door's upper portion. I will post pics of what I'm talking about later.

Looks like you've done some quality stuff...and I don't think that the vinyl would look too bad if it's red on black paint...I'll have to wait and see....i guess it would tie in with that whole red theme too.

Some update pics:

Here's my new license plate mount. It's made of some thick gauge aluminum and I think it looks much better and lower profile in this position.

Here's a side profile shot of the fuel door that shows the door once you push it in and the magnet "clicks" out.

Here's a shot that shows the custom aluminum bracket that I fabbed up to hold the filler neck. It has two bolts holding it in place inside the trunk, underneath the carpet.

And lastly, I just finished stripping and polishing my windshield trim pieces to match my polished sunroof trim.

Comments?
