People do this here in Ohio too, I'm thinking the F-150. Reasons, bigger, better engine (this the fuel injected 351 or the carburated 351?) more torque and HP. Also are you doing this in 4wd, or 2wd, if 4wd, that may help a little the F-150 4wd is good for pulling. I seen my dad's old 4wd F-150's (300 4.9 6 cylinder 5spd, one was auto) pull some big ass trees, heavier then that Durango I'm sure (except the Durango will be pulling back). I also seen a old mid to late 80s 2wd Ranger pull a tree it was funny.
Got the job done too.
Also it's your dad's truck, if he knows it's cool, if he don't know, not cool, I wouldn't do it.
