You can win easy even though he has posi, IF...

You raise rear of your truck so your hitch is several inches higher than his, AND use a relatively short length of chain - 10' or less.

When you start pulling, the extra height of your hitch will raise the rear of his truck while planting yours. The shorter the length of chain, the bigger your advantage.

Sneaky, I know. I like it that way...

Thank you most kindly. That is high praise, indeed, coming from 'Ray the Almighty!'

I thought we only did stuff like this in the south!
Really you've got him in all fields except wieght and if you've got a bed cover you could sneak some stuff in there to "level the field". You've got a good chance but nothing is a positive. I've driven durangos but never any towing, but I've got an 03 ram with the 4.7 and it is geared pretty low, but i haven't done any towing with it either! Good luck.

Throw a load of something in the back before you take him on. That ought to give you a bit more traction. And throw it in 4WD.

Funny stuff!

stop by home depot and grab some bags of gravel. they will seriously add some weight to the rear of your truck. hopefully he wont b*tch about you not running it in "stock" form.

if youre seriously teetering on this decision and have a good amount of money to lose then maybe consider renting the same vehicle and doing a secret test run before-hand. or finding someone with the same vehicle and paying them to do a trial run with you. all the theorizing in the world wont help you like the real thing. sounds like a risky bet

ps just out of curiosity...
we dont have these kinda hillbilly activities out in these parts so im curious if this can f*ck up something on the trucks?

last I checked, a towing-capacity type truck didn't have the hitch on a bumper like an explorer, etc
