here is my plan, tell me what you guys think. 1. wash w/dawn (or similar) 2. Meguiars clay bar treatment 3. Meguiars deep crystal system polish 4. Gold class clearcoat wax (liquid/paste?) 5. Meguiars quick detailer (every so often)

Clay bars are crap. At Pep Boys, the 3M stuff is about $11/bottle!!!

If you have never clay barred your car I would highly suggest it. You really don't realize how much crap is in your paint until you do it.  My paint felt a whole hell of a lot smoother after I did it. It also makes polishing and waxing easier.

If you buy the Mequiar's kit it comes with Quik Detailer and some other wax crap. You spray the detailer on until the paint is nice and wet, and then just rub the clay bar back and forth. When you are doing it, it really doesn't seem that you are doing much, but just wait till you're done  !
