It was at the dealer all day today and thats the only thing i wanted them to fix . Im going to take it back and ask them to take the air out of the system. How would i do it myself? I remember my dad would cup his hand around the fill hole and blow compressed air inbetween his fingers to get air out of our snomobile engines. That wouldn't make things worse would it?
Im still not sure how much i should drive it without any tuning done yet.
Our kind of coolant system will bleed itself of air! You shouldn't have to do anything because the resevoir resides higher than the pump and there is an air/return lane back to the resevoir. You fill the resevoir until it is at the full cold mark. Fire it up and run it. When it is warm all the air should make its way out and then you top off it it isn't already above the full cold mark. When cold, check the level one more time.
You may have a hose clamp that isn't tight, that is what I did the last time I pulled the engine and put it back in. Under pressure this will leak coolant and then the system will just plain run hot, allowing it to boil back. You'll see coolant loss and bubbling back in the resevoir. Check all your clamps including the one going into the engine block between the cylinder heads and under the ThottleBody.
