There WERE GS Duratec Mystiques. GS is just the level of exterior and interior trim. I have the GS Zetec, but I have seen GS Duratecs before. Also, apparently, there were some LS Zetecs made too, so badging isn't a definite standard on Mercs. On Mercury vehicles, there tend to be more variation in options than on Fords. Oh and I got the silver wheels, not steelies. It's just one of the benefits of having the "not quite Lincoln" branded version.
Oh and that Jetta's a monster my friend. I just took a spin in my buddy's '04 GLI, and it was quite the thrill ride! Gotta love that turbo noise! *Tsssssss* *Chee* *Tsssss*...
