My kenwood excelon recently crapped out on me... My friend had a el cheapo jensen laying around that I was gonna use for the time being. It has RCA outputs but no remote turn on wire... It does have a power antenna wire, would that turn on my amp or not?
TIA for any help...

you can try it. my old eclipse deck would lower the power antenna if i put it on cd, but my new pioner keeps the antenna up as long as the head unit is not turned off.

that being said run a small wire from your battery to a switch
to what ever you need the remote wire for

or you could just go to your ignition and tap off of the Accesory wire

or you could just toss a relay on the switched power lead at the radio harness.

or you could run it to any numerous things in the car that can handle a .5amp draw and happens to turn on when you turn the key to acc. You really don't even need a really on the switched Head Unit power.

run the remote wire to the radio fuse....ive done that to all my cars.

... cd player didn't even work ... so I guess I will be shopping for a new one...
