Well trust me I have been hurting for many years after that and I am still on a financial level and I am sure I could have legally made things better for me that way (just the way the laws are) but I just couldn't bring myself to be like that. It isn't in my nature and I think that in the end I am a better person for it. Albeit it is gonna take me a long time to get back on my feet but at least I still have my car and my house.

This is always hard when women get it in their minds that they want to "destroy" their spouse. No one wins in the end when you really think about the expense of lawyers and all the emotional toll it takes on everyone.

People in general these days never want to take responsibility for their own actions.

Here, here, and that is a perfect description of what happened to our situation.

If all goes well today, I will be officially divorced (already have consent), and all items that were jointly owned will no longer bear my spouse's name by tomorrow.

Update, our case conference was bumped out of the schedule, so instead of the judge to sign the paper work today, it will have to be sent to the courts, 4 to 6 weeks to make it official. Oh well, at least it is going to be done (officially divorced) by the end of summer.

Don't worry about any depts and stuff like that for now since they will pass. What's great is that your kids will always be close to you so all the best.

hey chris,
i'm glad for you that this episode in your life will soon be over. we've talked about this many times, so you know how i feel about all this crap. so, were the numbers close to what we talked about? did she get the maxima?
well, time to move on. we still have to go out for that drink.
and not to rain on anyone's parade, did anyone hear about the STUPENDOUSLY RIDICULOUS supreme court decision that just came down that women can come back to get spousal support years down the road because you had the audacity to improve your life after you cut away from the money anchor of a spouse. this unfortunate situation was brought forth to me by my paranoid mother.
so keep EVERYTHING that's in writing and always make sure to keep your head up.

She received the amount of money that was agreed to, and she did get the Maxima. I had to pay out the Maxima so she got a car free of any lein.

I'm on track for a better future, things are looking up, now I just have to adjust to my new job position.

Bringing up an old post here, but, I received a call from my lawyer yesterday to say that July 25, 05, the judge accepted our consent for divorce so 31 days after, which makes it August 25, 05, I will be officially divorced.

Wow... that was a quick one Chris.

Conrgats on what sounds like a relitivly painless divorce...

I'll bet you can almost taste the freedom now!

All the best man!

John.
