the reason i say this is because in your original post you asked about mods...well modding a v6 stang is almost pointless...sure there are plenty of aftermarket parts available for the v6's....but why spend thousands of dollars just to get the performance of a bone stock gt...i'd shop around if i was you for a gt in your price range..
Reread this post and think about what you're saying. He just said he can't afford a V8, so you want him to buy a V6 then put money into it to make it still not perform as well as the V8? No matter what body kit you put on or mods you do it will always be a V6 (unless you swap in a V8...blah blah) and so any real car enthusiast will see you as a poser trying to make a base model look cool. Trust me, I see these types of cars all the time on my college campus. V6's with awkward dual exhaust sticking out the back, mid-90's Cobra rims, ridiculous decals or taillights, etc. A V8 with a nice exhaust will get a thousand times more respect from any real enthusiast than a V6 with any amount of aesthetic mods. So instead of getting a V6 then modding it (I thought you didn't have enough money for the V8???) just get a GT from a couple years back...probably for the same price.
And a word on the new V6...nothing to sneeze at! I think it was Road and Track that tested the Auto convertible V6 (this is the slowing Mustang they make now, mind you) at a 15.1 in the quarter. That means the 5 spd coupe would be mid 14s fairly easily, I think. Ford's getting wiser in its old age.
