Yeah there are a lot of things that can be done to any of the late 90's or current V6 mustangs. A freind of mine has an '01 V6 Mustang MTX and it has a decent amount of power. It's a lot better than the old 3.8's they put in the older Taurus/Sable/Mustangs (they had problems with head gasket design, I blew a head gasket three times in my 94 Sable; something about different metals between the heads and block). I did a little reading on http://www.3.8mustang.com/ and it seems there is a pretty good aftermarket for these things. There is also http://www.v6mustang.com/ I would say you can do a little work and have a pretty fast V6 and maybe better milage. Is insurance cheaper with a V6?
Looking at some of the header prices, 200-300 for headers is pretty good when headers for our cars cost 400-700 depending on which company you go with. Also they have three types you can use, not just a short header design. Its gotta be cheaper to mod a Mustang V6 than the Duratec, so why not?
