I know there are many old threads on the LED side markers...but I did not find any that addressed wiring of the LED versions. There are plenty of great diagrams for wiring the incandescent side markers....is the wiring going to be the same for LED? I want to have the side marker light with both the parking lamp and the turn signal. Can anyone help me?

It would be exactly the same. The leds have a positive and negative (or ground in your car) just like the incandescent (sp?). If the sidemarkers come with resistors, great, if they dont, then seach for led resistor calculator and you can figure out what resistor and wattage.

What about diodes? One diagram shows a diode is used for the turn signal circuit and the then resistors for the running lamp circuit. I thought the resistors were only used to 'dim' the side marker bulb for the running lamp function. Can you dim an LED? Should I also be looking at an electronic flasher relay?
I purchased the Hella black LED side markers and the instructions just state to tap into the wire for the running lamp. Since there are two wires, one for turn signal and one for running lamp, the instructions are not detailed enough to help me.
I am hoping someone who has installed the same hella side markers can assist.

Dude, forget all that. Here...They wire up with no need for resistors, and they are awesome!

The link you posted is selling the lamps. I already bought mine, I need install assistance. I have heard of people have fast flash issues when the LED's are not wired properly.
The wiring diagram provided by 'auiotour' (back in January of this year) is very detailed and makes a lot of sense. I am looking for the same detail or confirmation that the LED side marker is wired the same.

You bought the hella sidemarkers with the 3 LEDs.
How many wires are coming out of the back?

they have 2 wires. mine are wired in turn signal. i didnt want them lit all the time like u want. i dont think leds can be wired to half dim. i'd try to splice them into the turn signal and parking light and see if they work.

If you wish the leds to be slightly dimmer or barely even lit, you can just put a resistor in series with the positive (or negative) wire to limit the current that goes into it.
