I really have no desire for high definition TV. I just wish I could get a clear strong signal with high enough resolutation to make the most of my standard TV's abilities. The standard NTSC signal is about 280 lines of resolution. My TV is cable of over 400 lines of resolution. I get a great picture on DVD, and I would be content to get that kind of picture on broadcast. But with cable, usually I can't even get a clear a signal as on a strong local station using an antenna.

One word: DirecTV. The picture quality between DTV and cable was like going from UHF with a coathanger antenna to cable. I'd NEVER, EVER go back to cable, and I love my DirecTiVo almost as much as my wife...

Yeah, I would love to have satellite TV, but my neighbor's tall trees directly to the south of my property line will make that forever impossible. We have digital cable available, but its provided over the fiber-optic phone line, so it won't work over the coaxial cable jacks. New wiring would need to be run throughout the house, and that would be difficult, how that the house is built and has no access from the basement or anything. Life just gets harder.....grin!
