Looking for a good price on a 27-32" HD or HD ready TV. Does not have to be wide-screen, but would prefer. Looking to buy on the CHEAP here, but want quality.
TIA!

well, HDTV means it will be widescreen, otherwise it is not hi-def....also in that screen size you wont be able to find cheap because the only hi-def tvs that are made in that size are high end tube televisions taht are very heavy and bulky and will cost you upwards of $1000 or more, or you could get an LCD television which will cost you even more then the aforementioned prices.....if you cant cope with the price, then you will just be better off sacrificing the hi-def route and getting yourself a nice flat screen tube tele that is not widescreen nor hi-def and enjoy the advances in tube technology as they still deliver some of the best picture qualities you can get!

touche.....i stand corrected, however, with a 4:3 aspect ratio, if you start watching hi-def programming and widescreen formats, you will miss parts of the picture on either side...not necessarily noticeable until you start watching programs or movies with that might pop up something that tells the location or setting like in a movie and if that graphic is off-center, it can cut it off because hi-def and widescreen, TRUE hi-def and widescreen is delivered in a 16:9 format....

Not necessarily
Whilethey do make 4:3 HD TV's it's a complete waste of money since HD format is 16:9 You will be saddled with letter box for any HD programming. Either that or it will cut out a large portion of the picture formatting it to 4:3
Not too many quality TV's in the small sizes. You may want to look at a Grand Wega. They are around $1000.
DO NOT skimp on quality or the PQ will suffer! Check out AVSForum.com.

Tigerdirect.com had a 26â? Syntax Olevia HDTV widescreen lcd TV for $599 after rebate (no sales tax). It has picture in picture, split screen, stereo sound and a lot of features. Sometimes you can get a $125 rebate for LCD TVs. LCD tvs use less power and can be used for a computer monitor.
Compusa.com has a a 27" Syntax Olevia for $699 after rebate.

I've heard a LOT of people say that Phillips is an absolute b*tch to deal with when things break... and while their TVs are nice tech, I've heard that the quality is suspect...
I'd go with a Sharp Aquos LCD... I have one and love it, and they have pretty much the best reviews in terms of quality of picture as well as quality of componentry. I would definitely not skimp on a purchase such as a high-tech TV (esp. if its your main TV, not so much if its a flatscreen to go above your toilet)... you def. want to buy quality, something that will look good, and more importantly... LAST!
