I've heard a LOT of people say that Phillips is an absolute b*tch to deal with when things break... and while their TVs are nice tech, I've heard that the quality is suspect...
I'd go with a Sharp Aquos LCD... I have one and love it, and they have pretty much the best reviews in terms of quality of picture as well as quality of componentry. I would definitely not skimp on a purchase such as a high-tech TV (esp. if its your main TV, not so much if its a flatscreen to go above your toilet)... you def. want to buy quality, something that will look good, and more importantly... LAST!
