My new tranny has been in for about 2 weeks, and ever since then I've had a random misfire under load. It comes and goes. Also the car has a wierd voltage up/down when the motor is running sometimes. The engine RPM goes up and down, and the voltage to all electrical components goes up and down. Alternator tests good.

Today it started misfiring so badly its undrivable. At idle it sounds like its only running on 3 or 4 cylinders. If you rev it up, the mis goes away around 3k rpm, unless you give it too much gas, then it starts misfiring so badly the car almost slams to a stop. Only CEL is for a "cylinder 2 misfire" and an 02 sensor, which has been bad. Any things to check? If I turn the car off, and drive it again it probably wont do it. It seems to happen at random, but usually only when the motor is hot.

Check the plug, wire and coil pack for #2. Make sure the wires on the pack are in the correct order.

I had a sparkplug get a carbon track along the side of the insulator. A new plug stopped the misfire. It was cylinder 2 center plug by firewall, I think. Your coil pack and wires may need changing.

Found the problem. If you wiggle the connector into the coil pack the mis goes away. Either its the harness or the coil pack. Gonna investigate more tomarow.
