From your sig, I assume you mean Auto-x. That would mean RogerB, moxnix, maybe weargle, and myself. A few others (Buckshot77 comes to mind) track theirs. Moxnix and weargle run Miatas now, but they both used to race the 'tour... I think. So yeah, there aren't many. Check the SCCA/NASA forum for old threads on racing. STS is really the only place to run a 'tour, if you're serious about auto-x. I think I'm getting close to getting the car sorted out for auto-x, but if you want a quick list of mods, this is the typical "best buy" full-out STS setup:

Rear sway bar: BAT 21mm is good all-around, for auto-x you want the "Aussie Bar" (24mm hollow), which is a custom job and tough to find. Someone is selling the BAT 21mm right now: you might want to jump on that if you're on a budget. It's 90% of the understeer reduction.
Konis with H&R springs (I think H&Rs are the stiffest)
Camber kit
Light wheels and tires of your choice (16" is good, the Hankook Z212 look good. I run Fuzion ZRi - they're ok.)

And get a good auto-x alignment. I'm about to get one, I'll see how it affects the handling.

If you're in GS - enjoy the PAX and keeping up with the Cooper S! And get some Hoosiers/Kuhmos if you don't already!

In any case, welcome! There aren't near enough people racing this car. I'm sure the ones I forgot will speak up soon.

Numerous people have run a Contour/Cougar in Speed World Challenge; if you're serious I'd suggest contacting them. As the car isn't desirable for touring car anymore they might even have a shell ready to go...

I also Auto-X my Contour, but there's nothing I could add to Auto-X Fil's post. I am only out there for fun. At this time, I can't really afford any mods, but I am in STX due to running SVT front brake rotors on my SE. Thats the only mod I have. But I still do OK locally, cuz there are not that many cars in STX here. I REALLY need a suspension upgrade. (stock suspension w/85K miles!)
