Chris, as I'm sure you recall back in I believe '00 they did something similiar for the SHO convention and from what I remember most people did not like hte overall set up of the convention.
I also concur with Todd...

I think that's a cool idea, but more for a regional type meet rather than national meet.
Don't get me wrong, I love making these national meets each year, and I don't mind the distance I have to drive to get to them. But I like being able to do it for only about a 4 day window and not have to do too much driving in between events within that window before the long trip home.
I do agree to the idea to try to spice things up and make things slightly different each year. I don't want to sound like I'm shooting down ideas just because I'm stuck trying to relive the past or anything.

Sounds like a very expensive week(end) to me. Say you have 4, 200mile trips. With most people running premium fuel, and an average of 300-350 miles to a tank on the highway, you're spending close to $60.00 just in gas for the trips from one city to another. Then factor in the hotel costs and how difficult it'd be to block off X-amount of rooms each night. Like Kim said, a lot people are already driving 600+ miles, and don't want to feel trapped in their car the whole time their trying to enjoy the event. I believe that one solid location with accomodating events in that one city works the best. I wouldn't mind setting something up with the SHO crowd. But like last year when we attempted to hook up with the Cougar community, they already had an event(Cougarfest) down in Indianapolis the following month. I really think that in order to have a decent turnout, we need to keep costs to an absolute minimum, and provide as much as we can for what we pay. It was hard enough getting people to go to Spring Zing 04 with the $80.00 charge.

Getting a few SHO guys to come would be cool, but I vote against inviting the entire fastcougar forum. If they want to come via word of mouth, then thats fine, but organizing an event for both clubs, would be kaotic. I have nothing against them, but if the amount of cougars show up that show up to cougar fest we may end with about 75-100 cougars. Its gonna be pretty crazy when it comes to dynoing and only 15 people can do it, show n shine parking availability (we will have a bigger parking area this year at Jim Baileys), and banquet hall. I dont think even a hotel parking lot could hold 125+ cars along with the normal people already staying there. Thats going to have to be HUGE banquet hall as well. Just my 2 cents.
