This is the way I look at this topic. My great-grandparents and great great grandparents came from germany and france. All of them come to the US and learned ENGLISH. They had to learn it to become part of the society. We STILL speak ENGLISH, and we should KEEP speaking ENGLISH. Every other country that moves in with us picks up english, but no! freakin frobid the damn mexicans and cubans on rafts would have to do something! The ones that do come into the country and make something of themselves do learn english. All the other ones, well sorry to say DRAIN ON THE FAILING ECOMONY!

more case in point, I was taught tolerance when I was younger, but not for ignorant people. I would expect people in germany to speak english for me, or people in Africa to learn English if I for whatever reason went there! I wouldn't go to japan and be pissy when everyon looked at me like I'm a pine tree in the desert!

West and East, both sides came, and adapted. Damn southern countries just had to screw it up!

Only a small percentage of immigrants that come to the US dont have a job, alot of them dont understand english or care to, but they still work just as hard as you do for your buck. English is not a requisite for success, my dad became successful for a "damn mexican" while only learning how to speak one or two english words and paid taxes and social security, does that make him a drain when he first started out? What about all those americans that do nothing but lie around in their homes waiting for government money to buy food or clothes because they dont want to work, are they a drain? Yes, but we dont judge all americans on the few that a "drain", bad choice of word, because we know better and arent IGNORANT. People that judge the "damn mexicans" toguether although most of them work is plain ignorant.

I didnt have to be taught tolerance, most tolerant people dont have to be taught imo, it comes naturally. I dont go around cursing whole ethnicities or people like some do because thats not exactly being tolerant is it.
