yes i have. i know people who put exactly zero effort into learning english or american customs and culture. i know exaclty what it is to be immersed in a "foreign" environment where the customs and culture are totally different. i choose not to be ignorant in those situations. sadly not everyone is as open minded. my buddy's cousin is a prime example. despite having been here close to twenty years her english is still poor at best, her knowledge and understanding of amercian customs is pathetic and her intention to learn any further is nonexsistant because she can live life just fine in an area we call little saigon without progressing any further. while i and others know she is the exception rather than the rule it is people like her that amercians(of all ethnicities) have issue with and consider a drain on society.
