You are lucky having zero sense of humor isn't a bannable offense.

However, "bypassing" the language filters is. I better not see it any more.

Rara you should go in the Admin panel " top left" next to Main Index "and just add it to the filter.

Yes, that is true but just as an FYI, the @ sign is not the A and dollar signs are not the same as the letter S. I would think you knew that but wanted to bypass the "swear" filter, but you obviously wouldn't do that, right?

where do I start? I am a senior programmer, architect, developer, beta-tester, business consultant, and technology helpdesk

certain parts I like, certain parts... not so much

what I do is different every day, so that helps a little. OTOH, I kinda lost the hunger for the new stuff. I do many diverse things in one day, constantly short on time, and my ass is always on the line, so I kinda lost this desire to come home and learn something new and cool. I guess I'm overworked and that's the part I don't like most of all

hey, at least you have a job

I was laid off for 3 months last year, so I'm grateful for my job. (I have 2 young children, so unemployment was extra stressful)

But, I don't really like what I do. I process a lot of paperwork. I work Customer Service for a Printer, so I create Part Specs, production orders, etc. We do make some interesting products and the people are nice, but the paperwork is boring, and sometimes overwhelming. I've been here for 9 months, and am still learning.

Pay is OK, but they just made us all Salary Nonexempt (or is it Exempt- I always confuse the two). We are the ones that do NOT get paid for overtime, but are expected to work it. My review is today, so we will see what my raise will be. If it isn't to at least what I was making with OT, then I'm going to tell my boss that I was making X amount a year with OT (not tons- 4-5 hours a week) AND expecting a raise...

If they say talk to us in a year at your next review, I will probably have some big decisions to make.

But I'm trying to stay positive and be grateful for my job.

Well ah, my job isn't exactly high up on the charts like you guys are. I work at Ruby Tuesday, but I've since been hand picked for assistant manager training. So I've been doing all kinds of neat things (well, they seem like it now) like taking inventory, helping stock the bar, making the schedule for the entire restaurant staff (which is the only thing I find stressful). I also have my original hire duties like hosting and serving and bartending. And we BS all the time, playing pranks on eachother like pouring tabasco sauce in a manager's drink.

And I don't think there's many things in the world better than free food.

Overall, it's a good job but I have my nitpicks about it:

-Skill. What you make is entirely dependant on how good you are at associating with people. It's a bummer to make twice what your section partner does and then have to hear them complain because they think you were "stealing tables".

-People. A lot of people can be cool. But a lot more suck some mean stuff. There was a time when people bitching about their food not being right would really bother me and they would leave negative comments on the credit card slip or whatever, but I've convinced myself that I am good at what I do, so the few times that I get negative flack about something gone wrong just rolls off me. A lot of times when something doesn't look the way it should on a plate is because of two things:

-I forgot to put it in the computer right.
-The kitchen staff has a big problem reading correctly.

And I've worked in the kitchen too so I know how much pressure they're under when a big pop rolls in. Kitchen personally wasn't for me so I don't do it unless it's dead, like on a Monday night.

I don't get any benefits there because it's difficult to average over 30 hours a week when there's 81 people on staff for a restaurant that only seats 175 people (this is small in comparison to the three other RT's in the area).

But when you can rake in $216 in two days, it's hard to find a lot of faults.

I can't say I love the work I do, but I have no problem liking it.
