Well, I lost the laboratory job. To be quite honest, I can't see myself working in a laboratory synthesizing proteins all day long. Anyways, I'm at home from college for the summer and working at a local hospital in Anesthesiology (PACU/POCU unit). Basically, I help prep the operating room and get to assist the CRNAs prep the patient before going for surgery. It's a really interesting job, and a great environment for what I plan to do when I get my MD. Also, it gives me the ability to see different operations first-hand which for me, is quite enjoyable.

However, the pay isn't too great. It also can be stressfull as I am sometimes assigned to the ER when the OR isn't too busy and that can be quite an experience on some nights (Recently, I saw a 700lbs man undergo gastrointestinal work, and let's just say the sights and odors weren't all that lovely!). Other than that, it's pretty cool.

I don't really have any chips on my shoulder regarding what I'm doing and wanting to do. I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was young. Hopefully, I can capitalize the time from now till matriculation to get into a decent medical school.
