I'm a self employed IT Consultant, with professional training and background (ie not your usual IT 'guy').

I love working with the business', albeit not the really tiny one's who are broke.

I hate working with the general public though ... there's nothing worse than "wasting" hours of my time fixing a PC so that stupid old ladies can play MSN Bridge with her frickin neighbours !!

The money I charge is great ... getting companies to pay is frustrating though. Not having to work constant 8-10 hour days is great, but not having a fixed wage is annoying.

Double-edged sword basically.

Solo personal injury law practice. Got bored too quickly previously in laboratory work, production management, and corporate law practice. Now? More stressful, gyrating income, sometimes my boss is hard on me, but often making a big difference in clients' lives.

1. Mindless entering of text and numbers and crunching tax rates about 200 times a day, if I am slow. I hate my job, dont ever be an accountant. Thank goodness I am getting a BS in BCIS...whew.
2. It doesnt matter, I hate my job anyways. On top of that I have an all female office...full of menopausal women. Right now the A/C reads 69* F

3.Doesnt matter, I hate my job anyways, but I have to drive 25 miles to get to it.

Im a college student btw, non-cpa billing accountant...but I have a fuzzy grey cubicle. Score.

Well, I lost the laboratory job. To be quite honest, I can't see myself working in a laboratory synthesizing proteins all day long. Anyways, I'm at home from college for the summer and working at a local hospital in Anesthesiology (PACU/POCU unit). Basically, I help prep the operating room and get to assist the CRNAs prep the patient before going for surgery. It's a really interesting job, and a great environment for what I plan to do when I get my MD. Also, it gives me the ability to see different operations first-hand which for me, is quite enjoyable.

However, the pay isn't too great. It also can be stressfull as I am sometimes assigned to the ER when the OR isn't too busy and that can be quite an experience on some nights (Recently, I saw a 700lbs man undergo gastrointestinal work, and let's just say the sights and odors weren't all that lovely!). Other than that, it's pretty cool.

I don't really have any chips on my shoulder regarding what I'm doing and wanting to do. I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was young. Hopefully, I can capitalize the time from now till matriculation to get into a decent medical school.

I hate what I do, or what i don't do I should say. I get paid good money to do about 10 minutes of actual work per day. 95% of my day is spent browsing web forums and other online stuff.

Sounds great doesn't it? Well, it was for about a week, but after that it is just mind-numbingly boring. I gained years of experience in web design, computer programming, systems engineering and systems integration just so that I could get a job like this, but now that I have it, I hate it.

I plan on going back to school in August to study something I actually enjoy.

I actually like troubleshooting with customers, even the dumbasses. What I don't like is telling people they have to wait five f***ing days for a field tech...
