I'd have to say I hate my job. I've had it for 15 years, doing the same thing all that time. Its doing government environmental regulatory work, issuing permits, taking enforcement actions, etc. No matter what the situation, somebody in the regulated community is going to be unhappy hearing from me. Almost 100% of what I do involves word processing work on the computer. Its a far cry from my college degree and I get frustrated I'm not using any of my mechanical engineering skills. Why did I take it? Family obligations made it virtually impossible to relocate after my former employer downsized, and good paying engineering jobs are scarce locally. I console myself with the fact that I'll be eligible for retirement in 18 months!
