Since my SVT is getting fixed due hail damage, I am driving my old contour for a bit. Flash back to my long drive this weekend: There is a vibration in the gas pedal, so i am like wtf. Get it checked out... wheel bearing is going bad and i need new tires. Ugh I lost a center cap to 1 of the rims because the tire place didn't put it on correctly and they refuse to pay for it. I was at the othrodontist today getting my teeth looked at and when i come outside what do i get greeted by? A d@mn woman in an suv swung her front end wide and put a nice stripe on my backdoor into the rear quarterpanel then drove off. I saw who it was but the office won't give me their name due to some privacy law. I was like... i just need an address, i don't need a name. She is lucky too. I would have slashed all 4 of her tires, egged the suv then broke a window and left a note telling her to leave notes next time. I am so angry, WHY DOES TODAY SUCK SO HARD?

I think I would've taken off running after the that SUV to try and get the plate... If I couldn't catch up I would've grabbed a rock...

I'm a big believer in Karma, so....
In some cases bad events in ones life are not a result of "doing something wrong".
Sometimes you have to take a step back, assess your life and see what you can do to make changes to improve your life.
Example:
A fellow CEGer was having all kinds of bad luck - friendships, financially, SVT, etc.
Based on everything I knew, I told him if I were in his shoes:
1. don't focus energies the car
2. focus on maintaining/improving/developing relationships with family and friends
3. stop spending money on your car
4. get a beater or sell the SVT
5. be more frugal with money
6. get out of debt
Now he's out of debt, working out regularly, lost weight, feels good, happy, saving money for a place of his own, etc. etc. etc.
Was he doing anything "wrong"? Not in my opinion. He just needed to step back, take a look at his life and re-establish his priorities.

yeah I would think that if you called the police and told them BEFORE you had left, they could have force the office to release information. But now you really can't do much being its much later and a cop really can't believe your story unless you can id the paint on her car
