Thanks for the advice folks. I had already snipped the sheetmetal back awhile back and was going to change the thing sometime but work has been lots of hours lately and it didn't last long enough.
Will let ya know how bad the garage rapes me....hehe. I made sure I told them it had the access panel under the seat and that I had already snipped it etc so they didn't drop the tank or just overcharge me and tell me they did.
