What the hell - is this a part of scientology? Or maybe the zen of fluid change?

When I see a used car advertised as having the oil changed "religiously" - it only makes me wonder as to the sanity of the owner.

It's been flushed out once a year. Why's that a problem? Or are you referring to the use of the word "Religously"....

Oh, no problem, I came on too strong. Every once in a while when I see this usage of the word "religiously" I feel like saying "that's ridiculous!"

When you change your trans fluid do you wear the special robes and use the sacred collection vessels according to the ancient ritual?

"Oh god of automotive longevity, as I drain this sacred lubricating fluid, I dedicate my actions in praise and homage to you. Blessed be the spirit of this car that it may continue to serve your will and reflect your power and mechanical harmony."

Yes, gets the idea across, but still a ridiculous usage as applied to automobile maintenance. The more complete definition I quoted makes the intended emphasis clear.

No offense intended, but the entire time I lived in Metro Detroit, I never heard about, and we never had one positive experience with Jerome Duncan Ford. In fact, they were the Ford Dealer that all the Ford employees avoided like the plague because of the work that they preformed on the Utica Trim Plant's pool cars.

Here are some examples of problems I personally heard about:

1) They told my Dad and his friend, both FORD Engineers, that the brakes on my Dad's F-150 "pulled within spec" when he took it there because it pulled to the right when braking.

The problem with this is that no such spec exists for pulling when braking.

2) We took a totally immaculate 1995 Windstar there for lease return. It had one small stone chip on the hood and 26 more miles than the 36000 that we were allowed. They wanted us to pay $350 to fix the stone chip (can you say normal wear and tear) and wanted us to pay for 26 miles even though we intended to lease another car.

3) Our friend took his F-150 in which he had never once put anything like lumber or a rough material in the bed to turn in from a lease. The bed had a couple of small scratches on the interior that you could have taken GS-27 and removed, and they wanted to charge him $700 to repaint the entire bed interior.

4) My neighbors went to buy a Conversion Van from them. When they went to pick it up, they were told it was already sold. Turns out that they sold the same van to three different people and could not decide who should get it, so they sold it to the person who offered them the most for it.

5) They stole the Radar detector and integrated mobile phone out of my Dad's boss's car when it was taken in for repairs. He even saw these items in the top of a mechanics tool box, and the service manager denied the entire incident.
