Well, i am have been lucky enough to get a hole in my tranny, is there ANY way to fix this? or do i HAVE to get a new tranny?? Even if it is a temp fix that will last a while would help??
Thanks for any info!!

It would sure help if you told us a little more about the hole. Did you break the diff and poke a hole from the inside? Did you drive over something and poke a hole from the outside? How big is the hole?

Aluminum housings often can be welded, depending on the nature of the damage and the location. If there is no damage inside and there is access, talk to a welding shop that is familiar with welding aluminum and see what they can do. If you blew the diff and ventalated the case, it is probably time to look for a wrecking yard trans.

well, what i think happen is a bolt on my shift tower broke (that i know) and what i am guessing is it got caught by the gear and broke threw the wall, Its about an inch and a half long, (maybe three quaters)long, and and probably about three quaters wide. I dont think there is any major damage iside, except that it drained all my fluid, and I drove home (couldnt fiqure what it was, car ran, just was loud from tranny, by time i got home the car was acting funny.)
It is at the very bottom towards the engine. would really be hard to get too.

Please tell me there is hope!!!

HA HA HA HA You drive home with a hole in the tranny and it making a hell of a lot of nose and you think you can patch it up and be OK - yeah right.

Time to start shopping for a new tranny there fella - that one you got is FUXORED!

Well It happened when i was driving, I didnt even notice any difference till i was almost home.
