Liquor prices are controlled by the state and they're gonna be the same no matter where you go. Beer and wine prices aren't regulated and stores/distributors can set their own prices.

That's not true. Sure, the state recommended liquoar base price may be one thing, but you CAN find a difference in the retail price. Case in point Meijer's is WAY cheaper than going to the local party store for liquor, beer OR wine.

Yes, there is a minimum, but there no maximum.

Is that a fairly new law??? A fifth of ______ used to be the same price no matter where you went.

Yes it is pretty new. It used to be completely state mandated by a big pricing book. Now retailers have the option to raise their prices, but they cant go below the state mandated minimum.
