Er, no there are dual stage lacquer paints. Most rattle can crap is lacquer based paints.
Enamel is a single stage paint, like Testor's model paint. It's an OLD school paint that was used in the 60's.
Good quality dual stage paints from H.O.K, DP, SW, or even PPG are all acryllic urethane and is what every current auto manufacture uses. Some even have tri-coat paints that uses 2 different color base coats before clear to get the correct look. Mazda and a few others use them on a few select models.

You get what you pay for.
