Do this process at least every 30,000 miles.
I think RoadRunner and Phil were not too supportive of that long of an drain-interval. I think every 12k miles is what was recommended.
Yeah, ancientsanskrit, Pete and I have recommended a very short interval, but we have also admitted that it is overkill. But, we have also stated that one of the reasons for the overkill is because of the valve body wear issue's, which spawn from the poorly designed OEM pistons. If you have Sonnax valves, then the 30K interval should be ok.
Another reason we suggest the shorter interval is because of the fact that when doing a drain and fill, you cannot be sure that "all" of the old fluid comes out.
Starjammir... Your fluid actually looks pretty normal, for old fluid anyway. The dark area you see in the center, is clutch material that is suspended in the fluid. By placing a small sample of the fluid on a white rag, as you have, you are filtering a small sample of the fluid. I have a picture of some fluid that I took from my father in laws Nissian pickup that had 40k on it and looked a little worse than that.
I think you will be fine. Just keep that fluid changed!
