I did my best to search for this, but couldn't find it.
I'm planning on running new speaker wire to the doors. Other cars I've had it's easy but this car has these goofy bulk connectors that are probably a dream come true for door removal, but how am I supposed to get speaker wire in their. My only ideas are to redrill and add new grommets on each door or leave the run inside the door stock and just run the new wire to the connector which would require figuring out which wires in the connector are speaker wires (which shouldn't be TOO hard, im pretty good figuring crap like that out.) What have any of you guys done.

yea they run through that stupid connector...I remember reading a thread that had a how-to on how to re-run wires through that, but also if you search, the user "grimes" had a good explanation w/ pics on how to run wire through the door using just a drill and some grommets, which is what I did. I'll let someone else do the dirty work of looking up the links, cause it takes me forever to search sometimes and it's late

Ya one thing I wish the search feature had was a full board search. I guess I'll do some more digging, or just start hacking away.

ugh, it's a PITA! although drilling holes and using grommets shouldnt be so hard. i just didnt think it would look as clean. (i never saw a how to myself, or pics of it done, just assuming). i just tapped into the stock wires at the stock amp, when i removed that POS. from what electronics people told me, the guage of the factory wiring should be sufficient unless you will be running some serious power. if this is inaccurate, stereo gurus please chime in.....im sure you will anyway

I have it set up from my head unit exactly how the FAQ says to bypass (and I did that before I read the faq ) and am going to be doing this when I add an amp. I can't afford the amp right now but I am going to wire the entire car at once: run fat power cable, 6 channels of RCA, and 16ga to all doors. Then when I get a 4 channel I can just plug it in and be good. On another note an area audio shop was having a sale so I bought a JL W6V2, I was planning on a brahma or maybe XXX or something, but $250 was a pretty good deal and it should still sound pretty damn nice, I almost got a W7, but just couldnt afford it.

I went the drill and grommet route. Not too hard, you just drill a hole in the door and one in the body, put in two grommets and run the wire. No biggie...

does the drill fit in there alright though? I can imagine it being tough on the front doors. I gotta take a look at the connector and see what I can come up with.

You can drill a hole very near the stock connector. I drilled one small pilot hole and then one hole large enough for the grommet and the wire. No problem, a few minutes per door.
