God bless the Patriot Act!

WTF does this have to do with the patriot act?!?! Why it was ever brought up in the first place is beyond me. It has nothing to do with the patriot act, quit trying to bring Republican Vs Democrat in where it's not warranted for the sake of starting a fight.

who said anything about donkeys vs elephants? dont get your panties in a bunch i was simply making a semi-sarcastic remark to his comment. blind-obediance to political affliation has nothing to do with it. im sure there are people from both groups who disagree and agree with the act. so stop baiting my flame

anyways,
yes, the store does have a right to call the police if they suspect counterfeit money. you know what? the guy also had/has the right to walk right out of the store without paying for what was already done. they did the work, and then told him it would be free. it sure as hell wouldnt be stealing, although technically they could sue him to recover their $114.
AKSSVT put it perfect in his post. ANY manager worth his salt should have been able to solve this problem before the police were even called. if a store manager can't figure out if a $2 is a fake, then he is the wrong guy for the job. yes, i realize that there are probably a few counterfeiters out there who are making sh*t sooo real that trained eyes have trouble with them....but a $2 bill? $114?? come on.. that dummy manager should have been thinking about the repricussions of his actions if he was wrong! can you say "bad publicity???" and yeah, he is subjecting the company, and himself, to a lawsuit with a very valid claim. annnnnd possibly losing his own job when upper management hears about it on the six o'clock news. duh! for $114 in $2 bills
if a vp calls him to inquire about an email he just got from the legal department, what's he going to say? "um yes sir, i really did think the $2 were phony." "um yes sir, i thought it was necessary to have him handcuffed in front of the entire store to see until the police came to arrest him." "yes sir, i did think about the possible negative effects the situation could have on the store's publicity and decided it was worth it anyway."

man, if i were that guy, id go in there next week with $5k in $2 bills to buy a new tv. actually naw, id do it at circuit city down the street and made sure that he knew about it.
