I would seriously consider it.

I used to pay all my dining out tips in silver dollars, then switched to SBAs when they came out, then used golden dollars for a little while. I don't do that stuff any more, but maybe I should just for fun.

I don't see anything wrong with what that man did. I have seen people pay for 30$ bills with coins.. like quarters and such. Best Buy are just a bunch of clowns...

I think the guy had a sense of humor! I would have went down there & showed my a$$ if they told me I had a free install one day & the next they change thier mind! They would have had a good reason to arrest me! He didn't do anything wrong! "Cockeysville"

I agree. How many of you have seen 57 two-dollar bills in one sitting? Would you believe they're real if an already-angry customer is trying to pay with them?
It's called a Counterfeit Pen. It's this nifty invention that every store that handles the kind of money BestBuy does has. What you do is take the cap off said pen, draw a small line on the money. If it stays yellow the money is good! If it turns black the money is bad!
You would think the F*ing police could have done this small step before arresting him. From this story I see NO probably cause or for an arrest. Hell, I dont even see even any reasonable suspicion for a stop!
This is one of the few cases where I would agree a lawsuit is on order against BestBuy AND the police department for gross negligence on both parts.

Actually he states right in his story that the cashier did mark the bills with a pen.

OMG I reread the story looking for that...
That just compunds the fact that BestBuy AND the police should be sued for this debauchle.

They marked them but they weren't looking for the color change they were worried about smearing.

When I was working in Circuit City a few years ago a guy bought a computer and paid in all $2 bills. It was a bit of a pain because of all the counting but was certainly a neat sight.
Stores are required to take all legal tender (but pennies) I believe. Although I do believe there is a stipulation that large amounts of coins have to be rolled.

ok lets take a look at this.....
Guy is apparently not the happiest after being told he must pay for installation. He decides to have some fun and pay in $2 bills KNOWING that the person taking his money will give some sort of unorthodox reaction. The cashier and management see smearing ink on the bills and can't be sure of the bills validity. They have every right to make sure they are getting their money. I don't believe its the best way to go about things, but the guy asked for this when he decided to get funny with Best Buy. Anything you purposely do to heighten the level of suspicion is at you own risk when it comes to money.
If you don't want to be "Humiliated" then don't give them a reason to.........
