ok lets take a look at this.....

Guy is apparently not the happiest after being told he must pay for installation. He decides to have some fun and pay in $2 bills KNOWING that the person taking his money will give some sort of unorthodox reaction. The cashier and management see smearing ink on the bills and can't be sure of the bills validity. They have every right to make sure they are getting their money. I don't believe its the best way to go about things, but the guy asked for this when he decided to get funny with Best Buy. Anything you purposely do to heighten the level of suspicion is at you own risk when it comes to money.

If you don't want to be "Humiliated" then don't give them a reason to.........

WRONG. The guy did NOTHING wrong, and CERTAINLY did nothing to warrant such treatment. So he was being a smart azz, so what? I just contradicted your opinion, doesn't give you the right to smack me in the mouth & get away with it because you think I "asked for it".

BEST BUY DOSEN'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!.....and guess what, Best Buy didn't give a sh*t about what that guy was thinking when he got taken by the police.

THEY ARE A BUSINESS AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO QUESTION ANY TENDER THEY FEEL COULD BE FAKE.

Lets see how all of this could have been avoided. The guy could have been a little less of an [censored]. He purposely paid the cashier in $2s knowing it would make her less than excited. He brought this on himself, AND YOU KNOW WHAT???? I bet he never goes out of his way to make it even a tiny bit more difficult for a Best Buy cashier to do her job...

No matter what you think, the store had every right to validate the bills. They did and stayed perfectly within the realm of the law. I'm not saying the police handled it all that wonderfully, but Best Buy DID NOTHING WRONG...

I just contradicted your opinion.....good afternoon

You my friend are severely mis-informed. I have 10 years of retail management experience. Including being GM at big box stores like BB. I would have took the $2 bills with no problem. Matter of fact I have taken in more $2 bills then you have ever seen. Best Buy was in the wrong and the Police were in the wrong. I would sue the $hit out of both if I was him.

Also if you plan on responding with your severely mis-informed and not based on any legal fact opinions, expect someone to call you out on it. As was stated earlier a $2 bill is legal tender. I could walk into just about any retail establishment and pay in quarters if I feel like it. Wheter or not they accept it is another story, but involving the police is not the correct course of action.

Bottom line is BB had an option to accept or refuse his money. They chose to call the police(who must of been modern day Keystone Kops in order to handcuff him to a pole in the store over some BS) which was an idiotic move on their part as any retail manager worth his salt should be able to tell a real bill from a fake one. Also the fact that they are trying to say that it smeared was just them covering their a$$. I could see maybe 1 or 2 with a little smear as it happens, but I would put everything I own that all 57 didn't.

I am not even going to start about their policy of telling a customer one thing then going back on it the next day. Completely unacceptable.
