The best engineers can look outside the box and do something a different way using parts that weren't designed for the purpose and come out with a better end result. Just something my engineering advisor told me once.

For you and Thinkmoto:

You know what, the implication of this statement is that he isn't one of the "best engineers", and you CAN'T KNOW that from your position.
Second, Just because an engineer recommends doing something the correct way or the RIGHT way by what is accepted doesn't mean he/she Isn't/Doesn't think out of the box!

If Stazi gives you advice with an attitude you don't like, level your criticizm towards his attitude to you, NOT to him being an engineer.
Do you think I can think out of the box, or fail to? Do I have a bad attitude to you as well? I'm an engineer too. I'm a Materials Science Engineer and more into metallurgy and semiconductors, but I have the training and I'm well in to my masters degree as well. Therefore I don't really think your stereotypes fit.

However, to each his own. If this is how you feel about engineers then so be it.

Also, I too do not recommend using a blow through MAF for reasons already stated. You have good luck with it, then no problems.
