Frist wasn't under oath and he wasn't trying to cover up any illegal activities, first of all, so his backtracking doesn't begin to meet the Clinton/Nixon standard. We can just put that to rest right now. And being caught trying to deny saying something that was caught on film on the Senate floor is a time-honored tradition on both sides of the aisle. If anything, Frist's assessment was NEVER considered all that reliable, seeing as how it was just based on a video observation. This was a decent "gotcha" but it's not really that big of a deal.
