I don't think that anyone is calling this "The Great Lie" but the fact of the matter is this guy does have designs on the White House and the fact that he now tries to distance himself from his Schivo faux pas speaks of his integrity(or lack there of).
Knowing your distaste for deception in politics I would think you'd be outraged...oh that's right he's a Republican!
