You'll have to cut the 3M tape with fishing line or dental floss. Then clean up both the body and the sidemarker assembly, replace bulb, and apply new 3M tape. The bulb has to go in from the rear of the assemby and the tape is all the hold the assembly in place.

Umm....I don't know about you guys but on my A6 sidemarkers there are 2 parts...The harness/bulb socket and the lens. Once the lens is mounted you should never need to remove it to change a bulb. Just loosen the inner fender and reach behind it and pull the bulb socket harness out from the lens. Then change the bulb and push it back in. Tighten up the screws on the inner fender and you're set!

Anyone else beside me have side markers that are full bright and flash with turns...Or does everyone wire them the way of the FAQ, half bright and full with turns?

I have mine half bright with 'lights' and full bright on 'turn'. It requires a little more work but it's kind'a neat

I've got the new Mercury Mountaineer sidemarkers coming. Going to put two LED's inside. One dim and one bright.

Chris--I've seen reference to the Mountaineer sidemarkers here before. Do they have advantages over the A6 ones (like, do they fit the hole in the body without trimming)?

I think no one knows what the new Mountaineer ones look like, as far as the back of them. So, the advantage so far is, it's difffernet than all those A6 guys.

I like them better than the A6 because it is a clear oval with no black plastic frame piece. It looks to be the exact shape of the oval "24V" badges on my car right now. I will post pics and stuff when I get them installed.

I JUST ORDERED A SET OF HELLA LED SIDE REPEATERS FROM NOMAD RACING IN THE UK. SAW THEM ON CARDOC'S RIDE AND THOUGHT THEY LOOKED AWESOME. YOU CAN GET THEM IN BLACK OR SILVER BACKGROUND SO IF YOU HAVE A BLACK OR SILVER CAR LIKE MYSELF THEY REALLY DON'T STICK OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB.
