I was washing my Contour yesterday when I noticed that the paint on the lower portion of the doors, and on the side panels almost has a texture to it. Any idea why this is? Only thing I could figure was that it was something to protect from rock chips. It's kind of weird considering that the rest of the car's paint is smooth.
