I think I speak for several of us when we say we like the forged crank as insurance for high power. I wouldn't feel nearly so comfortable making 300-400 HP on a cast crank. I've never heard anything good about cast cranks other than cost until you posted the part about better for constant rpm and damping of frequencies. I'm open minded because some castings are quite good though.
