The clip you talk about is a centering spring. Some people leave it in, some take it out. Your preference. And the assclown that said it was $140.00??? Tell him to pound sand. Try calling the dealership with this part number YS4Z-7K453-FA. That is your clip. It is listed for a Focus, but that is why they probably told you the BS.
