Any source for plug wires for a V6? They seem to be special...

I got my set of 9mm Ford Racing from Racer Walsh because they seemed to be the least expensive. They were out of stock, but got them in and to me pretty quickly. IIRC the set was about $44, plus shipping.

The Ford Racing wires were awesome, they were labelled with the cylinder number and were the right lengths, etc. Went right on, with no problems !

Is there a good aftermarket coil pack 4 V6? All the ones under "Parts" on main page are for Zetec.

I have not seen any after market coils but from what I've learned the stock coils are all you will ever need.

The ignition system is MORE than enough for most all drivers/cars (tours) out there.

As for wires, the 9mm FMS Racing wires are a hit and miss (no pun intended) type of thing. Some have had 0 issues, others have had tons.

Personally, the 8mm Motorcraft OEM wires are the best bang for the buck, and work just as they were intended (the preferred replacement by me...)

But Ray the stock wires aren't as pretty
Seriously though at least around this area the stock wires were twice the price at Auto Zone, NAPA, etc.. At the Ford dealer they were $130. I felt the FR wires for $39.95 was a good deal. I have not had a problem with them yet. Is your opinion toward 8mm wires based on a fitment question or a performance perspective?

definitely a performance aspect.

the fitment issue is a non-issue.. takes all of 5 minutes to dremel out the stock plastic holding tabs and they will fit. (or some lazier people zip tie them together...)

The performance of the 9mm are not "bad", they are good, IF they are good.. I think the bias is more due to the QUALITY of the wire, not performance of the wire. (when you get a bad one, it sucks.. and people "happen" to get bad ones more often than I care to take a chance with.)

I had the ford racing wires on my car for about 2 years without any trouble. started experiencing a misfire at expressway speeds under acceleration and put in a new set of ford racing wires. these lasted about 2 months before the same problem came back. have replaced these with motorcraft about 4 months ago. so far, everything's good.
