a new trick in the UK is to colour code your rear taillights, say your car is red, put some red paint into clear laquer and gently spray over the tail lights (obviously taking them off first) the result is colour coded and looks good, dont spray too much otherwise it will become illegal. cheerts nomad

Nice pics, guys. Thanks. Now I need some opinions. I have a silver 99 svt w/ tinted windows. Which would look better: black tint over entire rear strip or color coded silver paint over the reflector only? Has anyone with a silver Tour done either and loved/hated it?

Dont DO IT!!! I used Nite Shades and I liked the way it looks. Just make sure that you take the lights off the car and take your time. BUT, I wanted to go for a differnt look (Try color matching). I called Ramchargers to see how it comes off. They said it DOESNT. The said it embeds itself in to the paint!!!! I wasnt going to settle for that dumbasses excuse. I used this thinner/stripper now my damn tailights turned white. I am going to buy automotive pain to color match the reflector. But as far as the sides go I dont know what to do....USE CAUTION!

Did you say they turned white? Did they look like white or clear lenses? Could this be a way to make them?

No, this has been talked about before. The rear lenses are red all the way through, it's not just a coating. Sorry, but you can't turn 'em into clears with a can of paint thinner.

I know, I never said CLEAR. What the paint thinner/stripper did was take the coating of my lights...It made them look hazy. The reflector will always be red and thats how it still is but,,,they had more of a matte finish after the thinner. I then sprayed clear coat over the lights to give them some shine back. They look fine now but they should for 4 hours worht of work.
Ps. I am still looking fo rclear lights.
Thanks,
Joe
