so my car is in the shop where it has been for about a month getting tons of work done to it, and i just got off the phone with the guy. he tells me whats going to happen next and i say "how much just to swap a new engine into it. it has high miles and i might be interested in doing that instead if it's reasonable." he asks "you want to swap the enginge again?" i say "again???" and according to him its not the original engine. he says they saw markings that suggest a swap and i should get the numbers ran. now i have an engine with no idea how many miles and the dealer said it was all original. i'm hating this car...

If the engine was swapped at a dealership or under warranty it will be in OASIS.....

Sounds to me like you should just get a proper 3L built for it, then. Better the devil you know, and all that.

ok, part II
the man at the shop just called me and told me i was dumping oil everywhere b/c the last place that installed my altenator put a bolt in the wrong place and tightened it down so much that somehow it put a hole into my timing chain cover (IIRC) and now the oil is pumping out of it. i might be in the right mind to take the bill to the previous shop. still hating the car, even though it's not her fault
