I saw an excellent article in a mag called something like "Racecar Engineering" on the ProDrive built Mondeo's, in it they explained that the front bumper is the stock Ford part with a new lower section added where the rubber skirt would be normally on the road cars. Cost was the reason given due the high incidence of crashed front bumpers and air dams. I really like the look of the Mondeos that were in the BTCC. A few of them made it to Australia (series 1 and 2's) and competed here in our 2 litre super tourer series after the british teams had finished with them.
