It's the same thing in my boat.. my girl will support/enjoy doing and seeing anything that makes me happy. SUre, she didn't want me to drive to the ATL by myself becaus eshe was worried for my well being... but she KNEW I wanted to go and supported my trip to the fullest! I have a good woman!

they are right josh, my wife isnt a car chick at all, dosent understand 100% why i am a car guy either, but she knows that i loooove my car and that i spend money on it and it makes me happy so intern that makes her happy. its a sacrafice she makes for me, just like the ones i make with her about her shopping obsession. its just i put my foot down and my car comes first

There is a such thing of having passion over a car yes , BUT spending money on things you dont need thats something diffrent. And spending money on a Contour makes her shake her head even more , If it was a BMW , AUDI or something of that nature I think I might have a better chance of her understanding .
IMO... whether it's spending money on things that you don't need, or not, she should be supportive of you spending money on one of your passions and on something that makes you happy. Whether the car is a Contour SE, or a flashy Audi, should make no difference... 
I think that if she loves you, she should be able to sacrifice a weekend of her "self-teaching language studies" ( ) to have a taste of something that has great importance in your life... besides, it's not like you are spending HER money  ... like my mom always told me... "Love is Sharing"

well those are the sacrafices you make when you are married and love the one you are with, shoot i hate it i make 3 times more than my wife but hey bills are bills, i even have less personal bills than she does,but hey her bills are mine and my bills are hers.
