Call Bill Jenkinsd at Signature Lincoln Mercury. He'll fix you up with what you need for the FSVT brakes.

The only thing you will need extra is to order the lorger brake bolts (he's knows which ones, just tell him) and 4 HARDENED 3mm thick washers.

And.... considering we have ~500 less pounds we've gotta stop, I'm pretty happy with stock brakes.

I would recommend trying different pad compounds on the stock brakes first, the SVTF kit second, Todd's Wilwood kit third and the last thing I'd recommend is the Baer kit. I can tell you from experience that this was a kit pieced together without any thought for front/rear braking bias. My assend gets really light under heavy braking now.

Well, that makes you the ONLY guy to ever complain about them... With all the guys running them on here, that doesn't seem to be that bad a track record...

You know what they say, opinions are like aholes.
All I know is at VIR while braking hard at ~ 110mph the rear felt real light and it was a little unsettling. I've had NO issues on the street yet except once in real wet weather the brakes absolutely did not work. I have no idea what was up with that.
That's pretty much the extent of my input! Good luck.

Stock brakes are fine...not the absolute greatest option available but they do a damn good job. Your mustang was significantly heavier than the contour is, and also...didn't the old GT's have rear drum brakes?

93 was the final year for drum brakes on the Mustang. All SN95s have had 4-wheel disc brakes (94-04) as do the S197s (05+)

this can be fixed with a brake proportion valve

But it's not feasible.

The car doesn't need bigger brakes unless you are tracking it. Good pads on SVT rotors should be fine for anybody. Good, clean fluid and SS hoses will make it a tight package.

So if there were brackets then it would be a cheap alternative. The Baer dual-piston calipers are just PBR calipers that are relabeled.

there is a kid at school whos SVT has cobra brakes on it rotors and all. the previous owner installed them and he redrilled the rotors to fit the contour. im not sure what he did for the bracket though. it just barely clears the kids 17s. the brakes work great though and he stops on a dime. still not sure that i would do it though.
