Hey everyone i put in a capacitor yesterday and my car died completely later that day.. Is it possible for the capacitor to drain the power completely?

nope but its possible that you hooked it up totally wrong!

ouch, that's harsh, but I can't help but laugh at it...

you probably have a remote wire tapped into a wire that's hot even when the car's off.

It would take a long time for a Display to drain your battery dead. Assuming:
A - it is a digital cap and
B - it has a remote lead, today most display circuits are current sensing and do not need a remote lead.

Anything is possible though

if he has the cap wired up through/connected to the amp as well though, and the amp is staying on too, that'd drain it. my first stereo install, I accidently spliced the remote (just for an amp though) into a 12V antennae wires (it was blue ) and her batter died within 2 days. I think she drove it around a lot the first day though...

from what i hear most of the alternaters on the contiqs go bad if you look at them wrong
