I'm afraid so frown

Just to have my front and rear bumpers done at Ford was $600.

I've a few quotes myself because of the screw up from the dealership and they were around $3000.

I'm just waiting to here back from the BBB smile

$3000 is actually pretty good. Just repainted my car a different color and the estimate was $4500. But I got the hookup so it didn't cost me any where near that. And the hookup is a family special so I can't do any favors for complete paintjobs, sorry.

You could do what my dad did on his old Mustang and just do it yourself for a very small fee. He repainted his Boss 302 'stang a number of times. Blue, Green, Black, etc.

The cool thing would be a yellow Contour like the Bondurant ones. A pre-97 yellow one would be SWEEEEEET!

The paint was expensive and the amount of labor to sand the door jams, removing practically everything on the car was quite a bit and putting it all back together again too. The actual paint job would have been close to $1500 but all the other crap makes it expensive.

You could get a free one, anytime you like. Here is my step by step writeup below:

Just Take your Special Ford Key (any key will work though). Scrape very sparatically across you whole car.(Doors hood trunk everything) Then call you insurance company up and tell them that your car was vandalized, should fall under Comprehensive (Usually lower deductable). Complete paint job for $100 (or whatever your ded. is). You can even go so far as to key everyones car on your block, and call the cops and report it. Or you could call the insurance company before you do it, and get everything setup before hand.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!!

Oh and before someone starts yelling at me, I'm only kidding!!!

I hope this made someone laugh, if not I'm a total nerd...

I'm pretty current on painting prices (due to dog damage mentioned in another post) the insurance company quoted me $922 to repaint:
Front facia
Right front fender
Left rear quarter
Trunk lid
Spoiler
3 doors.

Hope this helps.

BTW, anyone know if you can re-clear an entire car?

Uhhh did you get that estimate from a paint shop or are you listening to your insurance company? When I was hit my estimate from a body shop was $1300, however the ins. co. gave me $752. The bumper was $823. The paint was the rest of the cost and that was just for repainting the rear bumper only. I fought to get the correct amount and won. It also depends on what color and what brand of paint you are gonna use.
